Interested in Membership and/or learning more about St. Matthew Church? Join us for Class 101 at Pastor Eric's Home.  The class is offered on Sunday, August 30, 6-9pm.  The three hour experience begins with one hour of sharing, a one hour dinner break and one more hour of learning.

Christian Conversations - After a summer of great discussions, Christian Conversations continue this fall on Thursday nights in the Youth Room at 7:30p.m. Many great topics have been discussed including Images of God, Who is Jesus?, and What is the Church?  Some upcoming topics include The Role of Worship, How to Integrate Tangential People, Organizational Structure of the Local Church, and Dealing wiht Imperfect People.  Please join us Thursday nights at 7;30 p.m. All people are invite and needed!

Adult Education -  You are invited to a Movie Night to view "The Apostle" on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. Popcorn will be served.  "The Apostle " begins our new series of Adult Education based on Peter Scazzero's book "The Emotionally Healthy Church"

Novel Approaches - The novel to be approached in September is "The Eye of God; a Fisherman's Tale" by Marilyn Giese.  We will meet at Char and Bob Cooper's home at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 17.  All are welcome. Join us for lively discussion, food and fellowship.

Biloxi Adult Work Trip -  Sign up is in the narthex for our annual Adult Work Trip to the Back Bay Mission in Biloxi, MS.  This year we will be in Biloxi from September 26 to October 2. This year we will continue to work on housing construction and repair and work in wonderful center for the homeless. Please contact the church office if interested.

St. Matthew Participates in Run/Walk for DuPage PADS
This event will be held on Saturday, September 11th.  There is a $30/person pre-registration or $35/person race-day registration fee.  This event supports programs that provide housing, job training, and other support services to assist men, women, and children who are homeless. We will have a team of walkers from St. Matthew so if you would like to participate in this walk, please contact the church office.

Tai Chi Exercises and Movements - The Tai Chi sessions will be held weekly on Tuesday evenings from 7:30-8:30 p.m. starting September 7 in Dobstaff Hall.  Jim Fulcher will lead the Tai Chi sessions which consist of low-impact exercises and movements done slowly.  No prior experience in Tai Chi is necessary.  The exercises and movements focus on stretching and loosening the body which hae been shown to gradually improve a person's flexibility, coordination and balance.  These sessions are not intended to be an actual Tai Chi class.

Rally Day  Fun Fair Is Coming - Join us on Sunday, September 12, following the 9:30 a.m. Worship service. It will be a fun morning for children Preschool - Seventh grade.  Come and jump on the Moon Jump, eat a snow cone, play games, win prizes and more.  Join us for this fun kick-off to the 2010-2011 Sunday school year.

Teacher Dedication - On September 19, we will have a Teacher Dedication during the morning Worship Service.  Join us as we bless all those who are going to lead, teach, and guide others on their faith journey. 

Fourth Grade Bible Distribution - On September 19, the fourth graders will receive their Bible during the worship service.  A special Bible verse has been selected for them and they will recite it before the congregation when they receive their Bible.

St. Matthew gathers to march in the annual Wheaton 4th of July parade. The shopping cart brigade entertained the crowd while collecting food and donations for the hungry.
